Our Board & Train is an intensive reconditioning program that teaches basic obedience, patterns desired behaviors, removes bad habits, builds confidence, and sets a new routine for dogs and owners alike. We tailor the program for owner’s goals, each dog’s specific needs and challenges, and based on how the dog learns. Our goal is to send home a more obedient, attentive, reliable, and balanced dog.

Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate; for puppies younger than 6 months, check out our Puppy Training Package or Virtual Puppy Training.

What’s Included

Every board and train begins with a foundation of basic obedience, and then we tailor the program from there. Obedience is “proofed” in all types of environments and situations. All training equipment is included in the pricing. We offer two board & train programs: standard and extended.

Standard: Our standard program allows you to have your dog during weekends so that you may practice what you and your dog have learned so far in training. You will receive a private lesson with your trainer at the end of each week to review everything your dog has learned up to that point, and provide you with “homework” to practice over the weekend. Your practice over the weekend will allow you to ensure a smoother transition back home at the end of the board and train.

Extended: Our extended program keeps your dog with their trainer through the duration of their training. This option is best suited for those with busy weekend scheduled or on vacation while their dog is in training.

What is Basic Obedience?

  • Recall dog comes when called
  • Heel dog walks next to handler on a loose leash
  • Sit dog sits on command and remains in position until released
  • Down dog lays down on command and remains in position until released
  • Out dog releases anything from mouth, also backs away from a space or object
  • Impulse Control dog is able to practice greater impulse control and relaxation in the presence of different stimuli

Program Details

  • In addition to formal obedience training, your dog is included into the trainer’s daily routine. This allows for a holistic and realistic experience for your dog, and makes the transition back home a more seamless process.
  • Videos from your trainer, which double as tutorials so that you may learn alongside your dog, ask questions, and witness first-hand our training process in action.
  • A thorough go-home session at the completion of the program, where we hand over the reins and coach you through all of the commands until you feel comfortable and proficient. You will also go home with all of the tools and techniques necessary to maintain everything your dog has learned in the program.
  • A number of follow-up sessions to ensure continued success post-training. B&T follow-ups must be used within 60 days of program completion.
  • Access to your trainer even after completing our program, should you have any questions, concerns, or just need some additional coaching by phone.

For owners looking to enhance their relationship with their dog, and become proficient in obedience. This is a behavior modification program, geared toward owners looking to address more serious behavioral issues (extremely poor manners, excessive barking, leash reactivity, resource guarding, bite history, fear and anxiety issues, etc.).  This program may or may not include off-leash training; it will be dependent upon your dog, in consultation with your trainer. Includes four 1-hour long follow-up sessions post training.
